Step-by-step plan

1. IKO enertherm BM insulation board is ideal for insulating flat roofs with various substrates: steel, wood, concrete (provided an underlay is used), etc.
2. The IKO enertherm BM insulation board has a sand-free and talc-free glass fleece on one side and a perforated, coated glass fleece on the other. When installing bitumen roofing rolls with torch flames, install bitumen, sand-free and talc-free glass fleece facing upwards. For synthetic roofing rolls: install perforated, coated glass fleece facing upwards.
3. Always install a vapour barrier (e.g. PE membrane) between the support structure (in wood or concrete) and the insulation boards. Ensure an overlap of 15 cm.
4. Always start in the lowest point of your flat roof. Place the insulation boards row by row.
5. Use the remaining piece as the first piece at the beginning of the second row. In this way, you create a chequered pattern of panels. Always make sure the joints are at least 30 cm apart.
6. Roofs with IKO enertherm BM insulation boards must be finished with a top layer (glued or heat welded as described above).
