Basement Protect

Basement Protect Flex Plug is a vapour and waterproof sealing compound for sealing moisture and pressurised water at penetrations. The sealing compound does not shrink or dry out and always remains flexible. This allows cables to be added to the penetration without removing the seal.

Step-by-step plan

  1. Place the Basement Protect Flex Plug in a bucket of warm water (35°C to 40°C) for 30 minutes before use. This gives the sealing paste the right consistency for easy application.
  2. Remove dust, sand and/or other loose elements.
  3. If desired, the back of the opening can first be filled with PU foam, for example. This allows the Flex Plug to fully seal the opening faster.
  4. Basement Protect Flex Plug should be dimensioned so that the ratio of depth to width of installed material is not less than 1.5:1. The minimum depth should not be less than 8 cm. The maximum width of the waterproofing is 30 cm.
  5. If there are cables coming through the penetration, it is important to move them around a bit after applying Flex Plug. Fill any new cavities with Flex Plug and smooth down with a putty knife.
  6. Future cables can simply be pushed through the Flex Plug. After this, seal the new cable with some additional Basement Protect Flex Plug.
