EPDM on a roll

Your made-to-measure roof in one piece

EPDM on roll is a very easy way to install a new roofing material on a flat roof. Just roll out the roofing membrane, glue it on and you’re done! This gives you a waterproof roof that will last at least 40 years. Even do-it-yourselfers can effortlessly get started with EPDM from Aquaplan.

  • Easy to install, both for professional and DIY roofers
  • Root-resistant, suitable for green roofs
  • Flexible and permanently elastic

Step-by-step plan

  1. Lay the EPDM membrane on the roof surface and let it rest for a few hours, ensuring the membrane is evenly distributed. Then fold the membrane back in half.
  2. Apply Flexifoil Surface Adhesive to the exposed part of the roof surface, up to 15 cm from the roof edge or wall. Spread the adhesive by pouring it while making serpentine movements (maximum 8 cm spacing). For small areas (<15 m²), you can apply Flexifoil Details & Seams in stripes. Repeat this for the other side. Use EPDM special primer when placing EPDM membrane on an existing roof covering or a concrete substrate.
  3. Bond the edges with Flexifoil Edge Adhesive, applying the adhesive to all surfaces. When the adhesive is finger-dry, carefully fold the EPDM membrane into place and press with an EPDM pressure roller.
  4. Fold the membrane at the corners to form a pocket, then fold it flat over the roof edge and finish with roof edge profiles. You can also use pre-formed EPDM corner pieces.
  5. Seal the overlapping zones with Flexifoil Overlap. Fold the EPDM membrane back 10 cm at the seam. Keep the outer 2 cm free and apply adhesive to the remaining 8 cm of this flap with a brush. Carefully fold the membrane back and press well with a hand roller. Make the seam extra waterproof by bonding the remaining 2 cm strip with Flexifoil Details & Seams. Press this down firmly and ensure adhesive comes out from beneath the seam for additional waterproofing.
  6. Finish roof details such as chimneys or drains with Flexifoil Details & Seams and a caulking gun. Determine where a rainwater drain will be placed and cut this section out. Always use pre-formed EPDM pieces and pre-formed drains. Ensure adhesive comes out from beneath the seams for additional waterproofing.
