Step-by-step plan

  1. Always work on an even, dry and sound nailable substrate that is properly attached to the substructure. One bundle of EASY SHINGLE covers approximately 2 m² of roof surface area.
  2. The visible area of the EASY SHINGLE is approximately 14.3 cm. Working from bottom to top, place a horizontal chalk line every 14.3 cm.
  3. Begin with a starter row. This is made by cutting all the tabs off a shingle.
  4. Apply a bead of glue, either ROOF GLUE SHINGLES or ROOF REPAIR REGULAR, where the starter row will be installed. Lay the starter row and nail it in place with EASY SHINGLE NAILS. Apply a small amount of glue on each nail. The first row of shingles is applied flush with the starter row and should protrude over the drip edge by about 6 to 10 cm.
  5. Stagger the subsequent rows by half a tab.
  6. For optimum waterproofing, the shingles in contact with the drip edge should be glued with EASY ROOF GLUE SHINGLES (310 ml or 4 kg) or ROOF REPAIR REGULAR.
  7. For the ridge caps, cut the EASY SHINGLE Standard into three separate tabs. One bundle of rectangular Shingles Standard 3-Tabs covers about 7.7 running metres of ridge.
  8. Always work in the opposite direction to the prevailing wind. Nail all the ridge caps in place except the last one, which should be glued with AQUAPLAN ROOF GLUE SHINGLES.
