IKO enertherm Combi-Cover

PIR insulation with finishing layer in one convenient panel

IKO enertherm Combi-Cover panel has all the qualities of an IKO enertherm insulation board, plus a special finishing layer. This allows you to paint or wallpaper straight away. The PIR insulation board is bonded to a magnesium oxide board (3 mm) that has many positive properties: it’s sturdy, insensitive to moisture, fireproof and very light, which facilitates installation.

  • Very sturdy, dimensionally stable and light
  • Quicker installation thanks to unique click system and invisible fastenings
  • Choice of finishing: paint or wallpaper

Step-by-step plan

  1. Before you start working, check the roof structure for defects. If a wall is not sufficiently straight or space is required for cabling, install a wooden slatted structure first. The COMBI-COVER can be installed over an existing slatted structure or between purlins. Always start at the bottom in a corner and work upwards. Ensure the insulation boards are mounted about 1.5 cm from the walls and adjoining materials.
  2. First screw the steel CLIP & FIX 1 SIDED bracket to the floor joist using the supplied screws. Ensure that the 2 prongs point upwards. Use approximately 3 CLIP & FIX 1 SIDED brackets per board. Gently push the insulation board, with the tongue up and groove down, onto the prongs of the CLIP & FIX 1 SIDED bracket. The next board will connect with the previous board thanks to the unique tongue-and-groove system.
  3. At the end of the first row, cut the insulation board to size. The leftover piece can be used as the first piece to start the second row. Now place steel CLIP & FIX 2 SIDED brackets on the top of the first row of insulation boards. Gently push the prong into the insulation material. Make sure the prong with holes is placed against a beam so that the CLIP & FIX 2 SIDED bracket can be secured with the supplied screws.
  4. The joints of the second row must be staggered. Carefully push the insulation boards onto the previously mounted CLIP & FIX 2 SIDED brackets. Make sure the underside of the insulation rests on the two prongs. Make sure the boards connect up with the underlying and adjacent boards. When this row is finished, just like for the first row, carefully push the prong of the IKO enertherm CLIP & FIX 2 SIDED bracket into the insulation material and screw it in place.
  5. Finish the wall, repeating these steps. The final row of insulation boards (at the top against the ridge beam) should be sawn to size in advance following the slant of the ridge beam. Leave a gap of 1.5 cm between the top row and the ridge beam. Take this into account when cutting the boards to size. Use approximately 3 CLIP & FIX 1 SIDED brackets per board. Screw them in place.
  6. Seal large gaps with the wall, floor and ceiling with IKO enertherm PUR foam ISO-FILL. Fill all seams and uneven areas with 1 or 2 coats of IKO enertherm COVER FINISH. Once the filler has dried, sand the wall and then finish as desired.
