EPDM Rubber Pond

Step-by-step plan

1. Start by building the structure from lime sandstone, concrete blocks, wood, or metal. Follow the supplier’s instructions and ensure a solid concrete foundation with a minimum lifespan of 30 years.
2. Carefully inspect the ground and the sides of the pond for sharp objects such as stones, glass, or branches. Remove these and, if necessary, apply a protective fleece or sand. Thin insulation boards can also be used as additional protection.
3. Unroll the custom-made pond liner according to the attached unrolling diagram. Ensure the liner is placed without tension and secured. Leave the liner for approximately 30 minutes before securing it to allow any tension to dissipate.
4. Fold the liner over the edge of the pond and weigh down the edge with stones if necessary to prevent the liner from retracting.
5. Press the liner firmly into the corners of the pond to ensure it is in the correct position. Mark where the liner should be cut and use the supplied punch to create a round hole. Cut the liner up to the punched hole to prevent tearing.
6. Fold both sides of the liner over the pond edge and finish all corners in this way.
7. Mark the position of the fitting on the liner and draw a circle around the point at 1/3 of the diameter of the fitting. Cut or punch the opening in the liner. For uneven surfaces or weld seams, apply ROOF LIME EPDM or Flexifoil Surface Adhesive and fold the liner back over the fitting.
8. Apply ROOF LIME EPDM or Flexifoil Surface Adhesive to the upper edge of the pond structure and secure the liner to it. For a depth up to 80 cm, one bead of adhesive is sufficient. For deeper ponds, an additional bead should be applied halfway up the wall. Finish the edge with ROOF LIME EPDM or Flexifoil Surface Adhesive and optionally secure tiles or other edge finishes. For a round pond, the liner should be punched and cut every 20 cm up to the edge for the edge finish.
