  • Excellent solution for renovation projects
  • Suitable for any roof shape

Step-by-step plan

  1. Always work on an even, dry and sound nailable substrate that is properly attached to the substructure. One pack of Cambridge Xpress covers approx. 3.10 m² of roof surface area.
  2. The visible area of the Cambridge Xpress is approx. 15.5 cm. Working from bottom to top, we place a horizontal chalk line every 15.5 cm.
  3. We start with a starter row. This is the rectangular strip of a Superglass 3-Tabs shingle one is left with after all the tabs are cut off.
  4. Apply a bead of glue, either Roof Glue Shingles or Roof Repair Regular, where the starter row will be installed. Lay the starter row and nail it down with 4 roof nails. Apply a small amount of glue on each nail. The first row of shingles is applied flush with the starter row and should protrude over the drip edge by about 6 to 10 cm.
  5. When staggering the Cambridge Xpress shingles, you must cut off 25 cm from the left end of the second row, 50 cm from the left end of the third row and 75 cm from the left end of the fourth row. Cambridge Xpress shingles are nailed down with asphalt nails that are at least 25 mm long in the Cambridge Xpress lane = the visible nailing strip on top of the shingle.
  6. For optimum waterproofing, the shingles in contact with the drip edge should be glued with Easy Roof Glue Shingles, Roof Glue Shingles or Roof Repair Regular.
  7. For the ridge caps, cut the Superglass 3-Tabs (same colour as the Cambridge Xpress) shingles apart to form three equal pieces. One pack of rectangular Superglass 3-Tabs shingles covers approx. 9 running metres of finished ridge length. Always work in the opposite direction to the prevailing wind.
  8. Nail all the ridge caps in place except the last one, which should be glued with Aquaplan Roof Glue Shingles.
